This is the Financial Advisors Want to Know Show with Catherine Tindall, CPA. I'm a CPA with Dominion Enterprise Services. We're a CPA firm that works specifically with financial advisors as their trusted tax professional for their own firms.

Today we're going to be talking about how to master social media with an advisor who has, in my opinion, mastered social media. I know you said that I've seen that you're like number one on LinkedIn, which is a really impressive thing to achieve within a couple of years. But I've got Mando here who has just been phenomenal, gets a ton of outreach on social media.

Catherine:
Have you been primarily doing social media for your outreach? Or like, what has your journey been into getting into doing social media? 

Mando:
So I'll actually go back before I was an advisor because it will tie into this answer and make this make more sense. When I was in college, I had a sneaker reselling business that I built through Instagram. And with that business, I completely built it any revenue through Instagram, through Facebook marketplace. So when I got into financial advice, I had it on the back of my mind that I wanted to use LinkedIn as the way to grow my business. I started the same way as most people do where you call friends and family, you get referrals, you're cold calling, you're doing all of those things that they throw at you when you get into financial advice. But eventually that dries up and cold calling gets really old really quick. So that's when I went back to the social media thing and said, okay, I need to invest time here. I need to invest money into this. I need to understand how to do this because I need a repeatable process to get a new client. And that's what led to LinkedIn. Last year, it was 83% of my business. And this year it's been over 90%.
